I’ve photographed two moments at The Oberoi — a surprise proposal and a pre-wedding session. Here’s what actually happens when you shoot there.

The Oberoi combines traditional Moroccan tile work with wide terraces, garden landscaping, and water features — a mix of detailed, textured surfaces and open space in the same property. That combination gives a proposal or a pre-wedding session more than one kind of backdrop without having to change location.

The courtyards, carved doors and long pools give the session a clear rhythm. With Ankit and Rachel, portraits in the gardens led into the surprise proposal beneath an arch, followed by photographs together in the evening light.

Ankit kept the proposal a surprise during their photo session. Beneath an arch in the courtyard, he knelt and opened the ring box. The story follows Rachel’s reaction and their time together in the gardens afterward.

Kinner and Jujhar’s session used the property’s mix of traditional design and modern lines as a backdrop — his suit and her dress created a strong visual contrast against the tile work and carved details.

Both sessions here were arranged directly by the couple through the hotel — I don’t manage venue access.
