Ahlem & Christian | A Moroccan-French Wedding in Agafay and Marrakech
Ahlem and Christian celebrated their wedding over two days, bringing Moroccan and French traditions together between Agafay and Marrakech. The first evening unfolded in the desert, followed by a garden ceremony and reception at Villa Rhoul. I photographed the celebrations from the quiet preparations to the last dances.

A Moroccan wedding celebration in Agafay
Embroidered caftans, jewellery and changing outfits set the rhythm of the first day. Ahlem and Christian made their entrance in amaria, surrounded by music and guests. The henna ceremony brought quieter moments before dancing and a fire performance lit up the evening.

A garden ceremony and evening reception at Villa Rhoul
The next day began in the rooms of Villa Rhoul. Ahlem wrote her notes by the window while Christian adjusted his bow tie and read through his words for the ceremony. Outside, flowers framed the garden pavilion and white fans waited on the chairs.
Their vows brought laughter and tears from the seated guests. As daylight faded, everyone gathered around candlelit tables. Group portraits at the arched entrance gave way to the bouquet toss, dancing and the cutting of a tall white wedding cake. Ahlem changed into a short fringed dress for the party, which continued beneath coloured lights.
