Farah & Amir | Wedding at El Albaicin, Marrakech
Farah and Amir celebrated their wedding at El Albaicin in Marrakech. From vows in the garden to the last dances, their day brought together the preparations, a poolside cocktail and an evening in Moroccan wedding outfits, surrounded by their guests.
Getting ready at El Albaicin
The story begins with the preparations, portraits of Farah and the details of her wedding outfit. Outside, musicians welcome the arriving guests and the garden is ready for the ceremony. These photographs move between the quieter moments indoors and the gathering celebration outside.
Vows and rings in the garden
Farah and Amir meet for their ceremony in the garden, surrounded by their guests. Speeches, personal vows and the exchange of rings give the photographs their rhythm: a smile, a hand held, a reaction from someone watching. The ceremony ends with the couple walking back down the aisle to applause.
Wedding portraits and a poolside cocktail
After the ceremony, we make portraits of Farah and Amir in El Albaicin’s gardens before they return to their guests. The cocktail unfolds beside the pool with live saxophone, conversations and photographs around the tables. Flowers, candles and chandeliers mark the transition from afternoon light to the first evening dances.
Moroccan outfits, music and the evening celebration
The evening begins with Farah changing into a pink embroidered caftan and tiara. Her entrance beneath a white canopy brings the guests together beside the pool, with Amir accompanying the procession and musicians playing around them. Later, Farah wears a green caftan and gold crown while Amir changes into a cream outfit and red fez. They are carried across the dance floor in round ceremonial seats, and guests join the attendants to help carry them. The photographs follow the applause, laughter and dancing that surround these entrances, then return to the smaller moments among the guests.
The wedding cake and the last dances
For the final part of the evening, Farah wears a blue dress. The wedding cake, the remaining dances and portraits after dark close the story. The night-time setting brings a different view of El Albaicin, with the lights and reflections around the celebration.
