Agafay gives a kind of open space no riad or hotel garden can match: uninterrupted horizon in every direction, a single dinner table under open sky, a couple standing small against the immensity of the landscape. I use that scale deliberately — wide shots that make the desert itself part of the story, not just a backdrop, alongside closer moments that show what it feels like to be that far from anywhere else.
Desert light is unforgiving at midday and extraordinary within the hour before sunset, when the rock turns the color of the mountains behind it. Wind is the other factor — afternoons can pick up, which affects everything from hair and dress movement to where we set up. I build the timeline around both, aiming the ceremony or portraits for that late window when the light softens and the wind tends to settle.
